Qld: Police minister refers capsicum spray incident to CMC
BRISBANE, Jan 2 AAP - Allegations police used capsicum spray inappropriately to subdueNew Year's Eve revellers on the Gold Coast will be referred to the Crime and MisconductCommission (CMC), the state government said today.
Queensland Police Minister Tony McGrady said he would write to the CMC today and requestthe footage of the incident captured by a television news camera.
The tape showed police using the spray in the heart of Surfers Paradise to subdue twomen who both were seen to be crying out in pain.
