ACHIEVEMEMTS.

Janice Faris of Janice M Faris & Associates, LTD has been appointed an AgriPlan/BizPlan provider in the Wheaton area.Wisconsin-based AgriPlan/BizPlan allows qualifying farmers and small-business owners to deduct 100 percent of their health insurance premiums and uninsured medical, dental and vision care expenses. * * * Mike Flanagan has been appointed to the position of manager of trade shows and fine arts for the special products division of Allied Van Lines.

In this position, Flanagan assists the agent sales effort to grow the trade show and fine arts business while maintaining Allied's high customer satisfaction.

He also works with drivers in the special products fleet to ensure quality performance.

Flanagan comes to Allied from sister company Merchants Home Delivery Service in Oxnard, Calif. * * * Naperville-based Internet Presentations Inc. has formed an affiliation with Warrenville resident Steve Bollweg.

Bollweg has completed all certification necessary to represent the company in the DuPage County area. * * * John and Ann Drury of Wheaton have been honored with the 1997 Community Award for their efforts in helping the Loyola University Medical Center Auxiliary raise runds for its 51st annual spring fashion show and luncheon.

The Drurys have served as masters of ceremonies for the fashion show for the past four years.

They have helped to raise more than $100,000 for the various auxiliary charity efforts.

* * * The First National Bank of Chicago has named Mary Beth Peters as assistant vice president with its Private Banking and Investments office in Wheaton.

Peters joined First Chicago in 1987 and has held the position of assistant trust administrator and a trust administrator.

She remains a personal trust officer with her newly expanded duties.

A Wheaton resident, Peters holds a bachelor's degree in economics and business administration from Elmhurst College.

* * * George Arasimowicz, currently chairman of the Department of Music at the University of Colorado at Denver, has been appointed dean of the Conservatory of Music and professor of music at Wheaton college effective July 1.

He obtained two bachelor's degrees in 1976, one a music degree from the University of Toronto and the other an honors bachelor of arts in English and history from Carleton University.

He obtained a master's degree from McGill University and a doctorate from the University of California at San Diego.

He will be moving to the Wheaton area with his wife, Debbie, and their young son, Andrew.

* * * Also at Wheaton College, Edee Schulze has been appointed the college's dean of Student Life. He had been director of Residence Life at the college.

Schulze has served at Wheaton College for 10 years, initially as a residence director.

She has a bachelor's degree from California State Polytechnic University and a master's degree from the Wheaton College Graduate School.

She has completed her course work towards a doctorate in higher education administration at Loyola University and will finish the dissertation in the next two years.

She is actively involved in planning and leading worship at Blanchard Road Alliance Church in Wheaton.

* * * The Music Teachers National Association has awarded a grant to voice and piano teacher Joyce Avery of Wheaton to study at Oberlin College's Baroque Performance Institute from June 22 to July 6.
